Congressional Research Service report on Rum Excise Tax

The Congressional Research Service (CRS) released a report reaffirming the Virgin Islands' assertion that the legislation Puerto Rico has introduced to limit the use of the rum excise tax is counter to the original intent of the program.

In a recent NNPA article, Delegate Donna Christensen, the U. S. Congressional representative from the Virgin Islands, warned that the dispute could ultimately collapse the Virgin Island's economy.
